Still Waiting - Too Good to Be True?

This issue has still not been resolved, but I am writing it because Ultra no longer appears to exist. Emails bounce back, all phone numbers go to voicemail, and the website is down or has been removed.

I went through uShip and Ultra gave me a lowball figure. I investigated them a bit further and they checked out, had a decent rating, and I liked had a good referral from the seller. My sales rep, Clay, upsold me to covered transportation and told me that, even with the holidays, it would be easy to arrange. When I started asking other carriers to stop contacting me, one (unprofessionally) responded and told me that they saw Ultra's ad on the trucker job boards and nobody was going to take it, so "good luck with that."

I contacted Clay a few days ago asking for an update because I've been sent no written confirmation, and his emails were bouncing back. He asked for another 24 hours to find a carrier but assured me that his people could make the pickup window (which is going to be within the next 12-60 hours of writing this review). The bounced emails, lack of response from Clay and the 800 number, and the broken website give me cause to believe this is not going to happen. I'm also watching for credit card fraud, as they have my information for an authorization once a carrier is secured.

Assuming this brokerage even exists anymore, do not use them, or insist on written confirmation in everything. If you are reading this and work for Ultra, I welcome the phone call.
